Re: I purchased acrobat 7 pro but can't get it installed on my new Windows 8 computer. Is there an update/upgrade available? Don't want to get stuck having to rebuy a product cause of the windows change.

Adobe Acrobat 7 is not compatible on Windows 8 as it is not not tested on it. Also, this is an obsolete version and not supported any more. I would suggest you to upgrade to Acrobat XI which is a latest version of Adobe Acrobat.
