Signer unable to clear signature

A signer of a PDF form that I created needs to update some info in the form and re-sign it, however, the signature is unable to be cleared. The clear signature function is greyed out.  Can anyone tell me why this function would be greyed out for the signer and what needs to be done to enable this function.
