Hi,
I have a Sony GWR-66VE camcorder that records AVCHD to a SD memory card. I'm having problems importing the media so that the time/date and timecode metadata is included with the file. I've tried the following methods :-
1. Using the supplied Sony Playmemories software to import the files I get renamed .m2Ts files e.g 20140614114153.m2ts. Each file has a corresponding .modd XML file which appears to contain all the metadata but nothing is recorded in the file metadata
2. Using Premier CC's Media Browser I browse the memory card and import from there. The browser correctly identifies the folder type as AVCHD but on import I'm left with an .mts file (e.g 00070.mts) and no meta data
3. As per method 2, I've also tried copying over the entire memory card contents un-touched and tried the media browser on the local files. Same issue.
I thought Premier was supposed to be able to read and correctly interpret the AVCHD folder structure so that the relevant metadata is also extracted with the file? I'm having to use the Sony import routine because at least that names the files with something useful, but not having the correct timecode and date/time information recorded in the metadata is really sub-optimal.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.
